Seville Culinary Delight

With many foods based on ingredients form the surrounding provinces, Seville has developed a knack for delicious concoctions from century old traditions. Ingredients such as seafood, from Cadiz, olive oil, from Jaen and sherry, from Jerea de la Frontera help to create this gastronomical masterpieces.

Specialties of Seville include grilled seafood and meats in sauce, spinach and chickpeas or Andalusian Ham, which is the Kidney of a lamb cooked in sherry sauce snails and gazpacho. Gazpacho is a cold soup consisting of bread crumbs, garlic, olive oil, salt and vinegar.

Typical sweets consist of polvorones and mantecados, a type of shortcake made with almonds sugar and lard; Riscos Fritos, ring donuts and Tortas de aceite, a thin siguar coated delight eaten with olive oil.
