Sports in Seville

For sport aficionados, Seville is home to two rival football teams, Real Betis Balompié and the Sevilla Fútbol Club. Catching a game when these two teams are playing each is an event guaranteed to entertain and shock you, they provide the greatest example of talent and dedication to the world famous sport.

Another sport that is constantly in some sort of controversial argument is bullfighting. With a tradition dating back to the 11th century, bullfighting was originally introduced by the moors to Hispania as a form of ritualistic man-versus-animal sport to warm up the audience to before the gladiatorial events following the bullfight.
